In the wake of the latest massacre of innocents by a young man wielding a gun, we have undertaken another national conversation about violence and safety, a conversation dominated by strong belief and emotion.
Some argue for the complete banning of guns. Others believe that the only solution to bad men with guns is good men with guns. It is time for a new kind of conversation. We must overcome and erase the erroneous belief that liberty and safety are somehow in conflict.
