The theme of the 21st Peace With Justice Weekend at Zion United Church of Christ on Oct. 12-14 is "Civil Rights ...Unfinished Business."
The weekend will feature two keynote speakers: Sandra Sorensen, director of the Washington, D.C., office of the national United Church of Christ's Justice and Witness Ministries and director of the UCC's "Our Faith Our Vote" campaign, and Derek Selznick, Reproductive Freedom Project director for the ACLU of Kentucky.
Sorensen has served in a variety of capacities during her more than 20 years of experience in the national setting of the United Church of Christ, including work in communications and policy advocacy on civil rights, justice for women, and media access. She has a bachelor's degree in psychology from Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, and a master of divinity degree from Yale University Divinity School.
