Grinnell College’s Ignite Program offers children from preschool through 4th grade the opportunity to enroll in mini-courses developed and taught by Grinnell College students on selected Saturdays during the school year. The courses explore a wide array of subjects from rockets to storytelling and everything in between.

The Ignite Program takes place on the Grinnell College campus and participants get to pretend to be a “college student for a day.” The program is intended to share the joy of learning, welcome our youngest neighbors to campus, build bridges, and promotes socio-economic access in our small rural community.

The Ignite Program will take place on Saturday, May 5, 2018.  The application form is available from 8 a.m. Monday, April 23, until 5 p.m. Friday, April 27.  The application and course information can be found by visiting the Ignite website

Over the past three years of Ignite, we have welcomed a total of 580 students that have taken 105 unique classes on a wide variety of topics, and you can expect many great new themes this year too. The program is opened to kids in Pre-K through 4th grades. Please consider this incredible opportunity for your students.
