Grinnell College is proud to participate in the 2014 Iowa Private College Week (IPCW). Each year, IPCW hosts approximately 5,000 Iowa students and families, many of whom will visit the Grinnell College campus as part of their IPCW experience.

Corey McClain, assistant director of admission and coordinator of Iowa Private College week for Grinnell College, says the week-long program “offers students and families an in-depth snapshot of the Grinnellian experience. Iowa Private College Week is a great way for prospective students to experience Grinnell College and what a liberal arts education offers, as well as determine which of the participating institutions is the right fit for their future.” Grinnell is one of one of the 27 members of the Iowa Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (IAICU) participating in the program.

Grinnell will hold information sessions at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m daily. Prospective students can do the following:

  • Meet with faculty, staff, and current students.
  • Learn about the numerous academic programs offered.
  • Explore the admission process and financial aid availability.
  • Tour campus, including the Noyce Science Center and the Bucksbaum Center for the Arts.

Each visiting student will receive a “passport” stamped at each private college on the tour; students who visit three or more campuses and enroll at a participating college are eligible for $500 bookstore drawings.

Students may register for a campus visit through Grinnell or through Iowa Private College Week.
