Brad Lindberg, currently the director of admissions at St. Olaf College, has been appointed director of financial aid at Grinnell College. His appointment is effective December 17.

A 1999 graduate of St. Olaf, Lindberg joined the financial aid staff at his alma mater as assistant director of financial aid shortly after graduating. Over the past 13 years, he held a series of increasingly senior positions at St. Olaf, the University of St. Thomas and Macalester College, before returning to his alma mater as director of admissions in 2012. During his long tenure in higher education, Lindberg has developed extensive experience in all aspects of financial aid, including domestic and international aid counseling, database design and software development, financial aid systems implementation and external relationship management.

Joe Bagnoli, Grinnell’s vice president of enrollment and dean of admission and financial aid, said, “Brad’s analytical approach to the work of a financial aid office has helped the colleges where he’s worked identify an appropriate level of commitment to financial aid within the context of limited financial resources. This is a critical time for financial aid at Grinnell, and Brad’s deep commitment to social justice and the liberal arts, as well as his belief in Grinnell’s policy of meeting 100 percent of demonstrated financial need for all admitted students, make him an ideal fit for this important role.”

Lindberg has been active in the Minnesota Association of Financial Aid Administrators, serving as the former chair of the Professional Development Committee. Lindberg holds a B.A. degree in political science from St. Olaf College, and earned a master’s degree in leadership in student affairs from the University of St. Thomas.
