On Friday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. a screening of "Janeane from Des Moines" will take place in the Joe Rosenfield '25 Center, Room 101. The screening will be followed by a talk and Q&A session with Grace Lee, the film's director; Jane Wilson, actress and writer; and Carl Pfirman '83, co-producer.
"Janeane from Des Moines" tells the story of a conservative Iowa housewife whose personal and political convictions are severely tested as she seeks answers from the Republican presidential candidates leading up to the 2012 Iowa Caucuses. The film features a lineup of supporting players that includes Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, all of whom were running in this year's Republican primaries as "Janeane" went shopping for a candidate to support.
This event is a part of the Election Weekend events sponsored by the Rosenfield Program and the Cultural Films Committee. On Saturday, there is an encore screening of "Janeane from Des Moines" at 2:00 p.m. in Alumni Recitation Hall, Room 302. Both screenings are free and open to the public.
