Sachs available to media prior to Commencement

GRINNELL, IA—Director of The Earth Institute Jeffrey Sachs will be available for media interviews Mon., May 24, from 8:30-9 a.m., prior to Grinnell College commencement exercises. Sachs will address the Grinnell Class of 2010 during outdoor commencement ceremonies, which begin at 10 a.m. on Central Campus. If inclement weather, the ceremonies will be held in Darby Gymnasium on 10th Ave.

Honorary degrees will be awarded to Sachs and Grinnell alumni Sam Tanenhaus, editor of New York Times Book Review and author of “The Death of Conservatism,” and Lonabelle Kaplan Spencer, trustee, activist, and founder of the National Gender Balance Project.
