Student Health Update

Recently, the campus received an update regarding the College's continued efforts to improve the quantity and quality of services at Student Health and Counseling Services. Late last semester, the Division of Student Affairs hosted a college-wide Town Hall on Student Well-Being, and a second event was held in February. Important conversations were held about the intersections of wellness, substance use/abuse, violence prevention, and mental health. This action is reflective of the College's commitment to making a positive impact in these areas. Recent research discussed a link between college students' marijuana use and academic challenges. We recognize that peers may play a role in your student's decisions about alcohol and other drug use, but parents and families often underestimate the positive impact that ongoing discussions with your student can have. Together, Student Affairs staff and families can partner to help our students reach their personal and academic potential.
