On behalf of the Town Hall planning committee, this is a reminder to please join us on Tuesday, February 25 for the Town Hall sessions on diversity at noon and 7:30 PM. The discussions will be hosted by members of the Council on Diversity & Inclusion and SGA.
The noon session will be in JRC 101 as usual. However, the evening session will be in Harris concert hall, to accommodate the College's Wellness Fair in JRC 101. We encourage you to attend both events.
The following questions may help fuel your thinking in advance of the Town Hall meetings:
How do we understand diversity at Grinnell?
What are our greatest challenges in achieving a diverse campus?
What actions or commitments would most contribute to a vibrantly diverse and inclusive learning community?
When: Tuesday, February 25, 12–1 p.m. and 7:30–8:30 p.m. Day and evening events will feature the same program. Pizza will be provided at both sessions so that no one has to miss a meal to attend.
Where: The daytime session will be in JRC 101; the evening session will be in Harris concert hall.
What: Help set our agenda as a College for cultivating a diverse, supportive, and inclusive learning community
Who: All students, faculty, and staff who care about the issue… and we hope that’s everyone!
How: All students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend and participate. The sessions will be co-facilitated by co-chair of the Council on Diversity & Inclusion Associate Professor Henry Rietz ’89 and SGA VP for Student Affairs and President-elect Ope Awe ’15. College leaders will be there to listen and share ideas, too.
Accessibility accommodations will be provided to ensure that everyone can participate.
We hope to see you there.
From your colleagues on the Grinnell Town Hall planning committee,
