Successful completion of the S.C.P.P. includes the following steps:

The purpose of the volunteer immersion experience is to give SCPP participants a taste of long-term volunteer work, and the challenges and rewards related to this work.

All SCPP participants are required to complete a either an internship related to their post-Grinnell service plans, or to participate in the Alternative Summer program. Students should plan ahead and consider which experience will help them best prepare for their post-graduation goals. Internships do not have to be funded through the Office of Social Commitment, can be either for-credit or not-for-credit, and can take place either during the summer or the academic year.

SCPP applicants should be aware that there are no guarantees of funding for volunteer immersion experiences.
