GRINNELL COLLEGE STUDENTS RECEIVE SCHOLARSHIPS FROM LADIES EDUCATION SOCIETY
Five Grinnell College students have received scholarships from the Ladies Education Society, the college’s oldest surviving organization. The Society, founded in 1862, annually awards scholarships on the basis of academic excellence, character, leadership and financial need.
The 2008 award winners are: Amy Rothbaum, a senior sociology major from Merrick, N.Y.; Juliana Blatz Du Rivage, a senior political science and French double major from Evanston, Ill.; Nicole Spear, a senior German major from Brainerd, Minn.; Abby Griffith, a senior sociology major and neuroscience concentration from Rockford, Ill.; and Amy Drake, a senior history major from Mystic, Conn. (not pictured).
