AWARD-WINNING SCHOLAR, WRITER TO DELIVER CONNELLY LECTURE AT GRINNELL COLLEGE
Award-winning scholar and writer Jahan Ramazani will deliver the Connelly Lecture at Grinnell College on "Poetry, Modernity, Globalization," on Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. in the Joe Rosenfield '25 Center, Room 101. Ramazani, who is Edgar F. Shannon Professor of English at the University of Virginia, will explore the impact that today's globalizing forces have on poets and their writing.
An accomplished writer and scholar, Ramazani edited the most recent volume of "The Norton Anthology of Modern and Contemporary Poetry," was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award, and received the William Riley Parker Prize in poetry. His research and writing focuses on the poetry of death, mourning, grief, and literary and cultural history.
