BARITONE MEGLIORANZA TO PERFORM AT GRINNELL COLLEGE
Baritone Thomas Meglioranza will perform on Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. in Sebring-Lewis Hall of the Bucksbaum Center for the Arts on the Grinnell College campus.
Regarded for his "vocal distinction and expressive warmth," Meglioranza’s performance repertoire will range from Haydn to Schubert to 19th century British and American popular songs, accompanied on piano by Reiko Uchida. He will also perform "Into the Still Hollow," a composition by John Rommereim, professor of music at Grinnell College.
Tickets are required for this free public performance and may be obtained at the Bucksbaum Center box office, beginning Monday, Nov. 5, from noon to 5 p.m.
A 1992 Grinnell College graduate, Meglioranza studied at the Eastman School of Music and has since won acclaim for his vocal artistry and versatility in the country’s major concert halls, on the operatic stage, with period instrument ensembles, and in contemporary music venues. The New Yorker praised him as "an immaculate and inventive recitalist." The Boston Globe hailed his "vocal distinction and expressive warmth." He has frequently collaborated with respected conductors Andrew Parrott, Nicholas McGegan, Jane Glover, Nicholas Kraemer, and Bernard Labadie.
The Meglioranza performance is sponsored by the Grinnell College Public Events Committee. The Bucksbaum Center for the Arts is located at the corner of 6th Ave. and Park St. on the Grinnell College campus. For ticket questions, call 641-269-3235.
