PIANIST TREVOR STEPHENSON TO PERFORM MOZART AT GRINNELL
Pianist Trevor Stephenson will perform "Mozart at the Keyboard" at an 18th-century fortepiano on Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Herrick Chapel on the Grinnell College campus. The concert program will include "Fantasy in D minor," variations on "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star," "Sonata in A major," and other selections by Haydn, Schubert, and Beethoven.
Stephenson, who lives in Madison, Wisc., tours throughout the U.S., giving concerts, lectures, and master classes, in addition to his role as artistic director and harpsichordist for the Madison Bach Musicians. In 1994 he founded the Light & Shadow concert and recording company and has produced 12 recordings of historical keyboard instruments on that label. He also rebuilds and customizes keyboard instruments ranging from Italian Renaissance harpsichords to Victorian pianos.
No tickets are required for this free public performance.
The Stephenson performance is sponsored by the Grinnell College Student Government Association All-Campus Events Committee. Herrick Chapel is located at the intersection of 7th Ave. and Park St. on the Grinnell College campus.
