YOGA AND OPEN MIC IN GRINNELL’S FAULCONER GALLERY
Grinnell College’s Faulconer Gallery will host three public events in the surroundings of the gallery’s current exhibition, "Installations: Seven International Artists with Roots in Morocco."
On Dec. 5 from 7:45 to 9 p.m., the Faulconer Gallery and the Grinnell College Libraries will co-host an open mic poetry and fiction reading for those who want to listen or read from their own writing or the work of a favorite author. Refreshments will be served.
On Nov. 29 and Dec. 13 from 7 to 8 p.m., yoga instructor Jennifer Mavin will engage participants in the power of yoga. Mavin, who has more than 10 years experience as a fitness instructor, personal trainer, and wellness consultant, invites participants to bring a mat or towel to the open session.
The backdrop for the Faulconer Gallery activities is "Installations," a multimedia exhibition of sculpture, photography, mixed media, interactive computing, and film, on display through Dec. 16. Gallery hours are Sunday-Wednesday, noon to 5 p.m. and Thursday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Faulconer Gallery events are free and open to the public. Faulconer Gallery is located in the Bucksbaum Center for the Arts, 1108 Park St. on the Grinnell College campus. For more information about these events, contact Tilly Woodward, 641-269-4663 or woodward@grinnell.edu. -30-
