MID-YEAR COMMENCEMENT SET FOR GRINNELL COLLEGE STUDENTS
Twenty-two Grinnell College seniors will graduate mid-year in a private ceremony on Nov. 28 in the Pioneer Room at the Old Glove Factory.
George A. Drake, professor emeritus of history and former president of the college, will address the graduates with "The Grinnell Experience." The mid-year graduates will also hear remarks from Dean of the College Jim Swartz; Dean of Religious Life Deanna Shorb; Director of Alumni Relations Jim Hess; and Russell Osgood, president.
Founded in 1846, Grinnell College enrolls 1,600 students from all 50 states and from as many international countries in more than 25 major fields, interdisciplinary concentrations, and pre-professional programs. Approximately one-third of Grinnell students graduate with degrees in science; one-third with degrees in the humanities; and one-third with degrees in the social sciences. Grinnell’s spring commencement is scheduled for May 19, 2008. -30-
