College Bookstore Extends hours for New Student Orientation and Labor Day
The College Bookstore will be open on Saturday (8/25) 9am – 5pm and Sunday (8/26) 10am to 4pm.
The store will also be open on Labor Day (9/3) 8:30am – 5pm
New York Times Subscriptions
The College Bookstore is selling discounted New York Times subscriptions. A fall subscription is $54.00. A year subscription is $109.50. Subscriptions are Monday – Friday, except during breaks and holidays. This year, we have extended delivery through final exam weeks so you get 10 more days to read the New York Times. You also receive free, unlimited, digital access with your subscription. Order forms are at the College Bookstore.
Discover Grinnell Programs – September 21 and October 5
The Office of Admission is gearing up for our annual Discover Grinnell Programs on Friday, September 21 and Friday, October 5, 2012. These programs are designed for prospective students and their families to experience the Grinnell College community. We make every effort to present a thoughtful and comprehensive picture of the academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular opportunities available to our students.
During the Discover Grinnell Programs, students are able to spend the night in one of the residence halls with a current student host, attend class, eat in the dining hall, and take a tour of campus. We also offer a variety of informational sessions featuring faculty, staff and current students.
We rely on the entire college community to make the Discover Grinnell Programs a success. We could not offer these programs without great cooperation and flexibility from all staff, faculty and current students. We would like to thank the entire Grinnell College community for generously hosting the prospective students and their families!
The Discover Grinnell Programs are coordinated by Jennifer Hirsch, Assistant Director of Admission and Coordinator of Campus Visits and Events, with a great deal of help from the rest of the Admission staff. The College Bookstore and the Pioneer Bookshop are not the same.
Did you know that Grinnell College has two bookstores? The College Bookstore is located on campus behind Carnegie. The Pioneer Bookshop is downtown at 823 4th Avenue. Both stores have books of course. The College Bookstore is the source for textbooks, art supplies, school supplies and Grinnell College imprinted apparel and gifts. The Pioneer Bookshop is the community based book source for readers of all interests and includes a large, specially selected section of children's books as well as quality educational toys. The Pioneer Bookshop also has an assortment of imprinted apparel for both the Grinnell College Pioneers and the Grinnell Tigers.
