Campus Organizational Changes

Several organizational changes have taken place on campus this summer, due to openings and other transitions prompted by strategic planning initiatives. A campus-wide recap of these changes and more will be issued by the President's Office in late August. In the meantime, here's a preview of changes already underway:

  • A welcome to Michael Benitez, who joins the staff as director of intercultural engagement and leadership. Michael's office is located in Nollen House, and he will report to Paula Smith, academic affairs. Marlene Jacks will assist Michael with intercultural programming and will continue to be located in the Rosenfield Center.
  • The Office of Career Development, led by Associate Dean and Director Mark Peltz, welcomes Doug Cutchins '93, director of social commitment, and Susan Sanning, community service coordinator. Doug and Susan will report to Mark and will continue to lead their programs from the current location at 1233 Park.
  • The Division of Student Affairs (DSA) is welcoming back the Office of the Chaplain, led by Deanna Shorb, dean of religious life and chaplain. The office, supported by Julie Laube, technical assistant, will continue to be located at 1233 Park and will report to the DSA. A search is underway for an assistant chaplain and campus rabbi.
