FAQs - About the Laurel Leaf
The Laurel Leaf is published on-line every other Thursday by the Office of College Services for the staff and faculty of Grinnell College. Some publication date exceptions (due to holidays, etc.) may occur.
How can I get a copy of the Laurel Leaf?
Paper copies of the Laurel Leaf are available from the Office of College Services. Contact wadev@grinnell.edu or call 641-269-3044 for a copy of the current issue. Archive issues may be viewed in Portable Document Format (PDF) at Archive Issues. A paper copy of each Issue is available in the Archive Room at Burling Library - lower level. Departments on campus may request paper copies of the Laurel Leaf for employees who do not have regular access to college computers.
How and what do I contribute to the Laurel Leaf?
Submit an item to the Laurel Leaf through our website or by sending an email to laurel@grinnell.edu. The editor (or editors) of the Laurel Leaf reserves the right to edit all submissions. Items should be of interest and relate to Grinnell College employees - staff and faculty.

Announcements - News, deadlines and information Grinnell College employees need/wish to know.
Upcoming Events - Events of general interest to campus employees. These events should either take place on campus or in the local community or be sponsored by Grinnell College or a combination thereof. The editor (or editors) of the Laurel Leaf reserves the right to edit or refuse submissions.
Information Technology Notes - A section in which ITS staff can share information about campus computing and/or technology, including current or upcoming projects.
Campus Wellness - Programs, opportunities and deadlines related to campus wellness. This section includes articles or resources that promote employee wellness.
Staff and Faculty Notes - Lists promotions, new hires, professional achievements and recognition awarded to campus employees. May also list information related to employee benefits or insurance, including downloadable forms and other documents.
Campus Resources - Campus opt-in list-servs available to staff and faculty will be listed in this section as well as tips that promote efficiency.
In the Spotlight - Employees may recommend a Grinnell College employee to appear "In the Spotlight." Employees should be aware of the submission and will be asked to provide information about their professional endeavors at the college. A photo of the employee may be taken/submitted for inclusion on the website. The purpose of this area is to share information about campus offices and employees, educate employees about campus services, and increase a sense of campus community through event and/or program information. Recommendations should be sent by email to laurel@grinnell.edu.
How close to publication may I submit an item?
The deadline for Laurel Leaf submissions is 9:00 a.m. the Wednesday before publication. The Laurel Leaf is published every other Thursday during the academic year (with some exceptions).
