"Mindful Eating" Lunch-n-Learn
Do you want to learn to become aware of hunger cues, be in the moment at mealtime, and practice self-acceptance and compassion?

"In the rush of everyday life, most people have difficulty finding ways to give their relationship with food the full attention it deserves. Demanding diets saddle you with guilt about your appetite, but overeating and mindless snacking prove ultimately unsatisfying as well." -Susan Albers

Live Well Grinnell is sponsoring a lunch-n-learn based on Susan Albers' book "Mindful Eating" to address just such issues.

Come join us from 12:00-1:00pm on October 30th in JRC 225 for a lunch of black bean soup, roasted vegetable tacos, and Mexican wedding cookies. Use this opportunity to develop the tools to eat mindfully and have an enjoyable and healthy relationship with food. (Good news: This is NOT about "dieting".)

Open to all faculty/staff-- please RSVP to jacobsen@grinnell.edu by noon on Tuesday, October 27. Lunch is provided.

New Year, New You!
LiveWell Grinnell is considering sponsoring the following:
-an 8-week Freedom From Smoking class
-a 13-week Weight Watchers class

Both will be held on campus and will begin in January, pending sufficient employee interest. Cost depends on number of participants, but fees for both would be reimbursed 50% through your wellness benefit.

If you are interested, please e-mail jacobsen@grinnell.edu with the following information:

Subject line: either Freedom From Smoking or Weight Watchers
-level of interest
-what days/times would work for you
