The Grinnell College web presence is supported by four main types of servers:
Institutional "internet"
Web pages that are intended for the large audience inside and outside Grinnell. Maintained by web team and content owners, with ITS support.
- web.grinnell.edu (a variety of individual sites in different areas)
College "intranet"
Web pages intended primarily or exclusively for members of campus community. Maintained by ITS and content owners.
- Pioneerweb
- eTime server
- Campus Directory
Database and online application servers
Provide information distribution for any and all College web pages. Maintained by web team and/or ITS and content owners.
- Outlook Web Access
- R25 (Calendar server)
- wm2.grinnell.edu (webmaster's online database server)
- wm.grinnell.edu (webmaster's additional processing server)
Specialized servers
Provide individual and specialized groups with web presence. Maintained by individual hosts and content owners.
Although there are exceptions, generally if you are maintaining an official College web page intended for on- and off-campus audiences, the page should be under www.grinnell.edu and use the College's CMS, Drupal, as a maintenance and development tool.
