Send us your comments and submissions! Click here if you would like to comment on the calendar or submit events for future publications. In general, any event included in the calendar must be: located in the town of Grinnell (not on-campus or out of town); focused on entertainment and recreation; a "special event"; open to the public; sponsored by a not-for-profit organization. Even if an event meets all the criteria, the Office of Community
Enhancement reserves the right to decline any item as our criteria continue to
evolve. Weekly, we assess the events of which we are aware and make judgments about those items that we feel would have
the highest relevance for our key targets: students, followed by faculty, staff and visitors. Because
the calendar is limited in space, we may not be able to publish all
relevant community events.
Information About the Calendar
The Community Calendar of Events is published weekly by the Office of Community
Enhancement. The calendar is not intended to be a comprehensive listing of all
Grinnell area events, but rather a sampling of items thought to be of highest interest to
students, faculty, staff and visitors. The purpose is to provide "one-stop-shopping" of interesting
events in town to anyone on-campus or thinking about visiting Grinnell.
During the academic year, the calendar is printed weekly in the student newspaper, the
Scarlet & Black (S&B), and also appears on the Community Enhancement website
(http://www.grinnell.edu/offices/communityenhance/eventscalendar/). Individuals can subscribe to an opt-in list-serve to be notified weekly of all updates to the calendar. If you are interested in receiving these weekly e-mail notices, subscribe here.
