The city of Grinnell places a strong value on education, and learning opportunities abound for citizens of all ages and interests. Grinnell residents can also take advantage of statewide "real-time" learning opportunities through the three Iowa Communication Network (ICN) clasrooms available in town: Grinnell Stewart Public Library, Grinnell Senior High School and Iowa Valley Community Collge District.

Preschool For the littlest children and their working parents, there are two combination preschool/childcare centers as well as a variety of preschool-only options, including the well-respected Grinnell College Preschool.

School Age
The Grinnell-Newburg School District (641) 236-2700 includes three elementary schools (K-4), a middle school (5-8), and a high school (9-12). High school students with strong academic records may further broaden their curriculum with complimentary courses at Grinnell College. New Horizons High School (641) 236-0513 offer an alternative program for high school age students. The Galaxy Youth Center provides a recreation center for middle to high school aged students. (641) 236-7235 Grinnell's Central Iowa Christian School (641) 236 3300 serves grades K-8 with a smaller scale, faith-based program for those seeking a private education opportunity.

Community College and Continuing Education
The Iowa Valley Community College District network offers selected degree programs as well as vocational and recreational classes for the whole community. Grinnell Regional Medical Center provides an enrichment series for seniors with their popular Community Education Program.
