What to expect at the conference:
Students who attend the conference should expect to:
- Present their research in oral or poster form, with feedback provided by Grinnell College science faculty and research students.
- Participate in Grinnell Science Project laboratory activities to experience the inquiry-based nature of Grinnell's introductory science curriculum.
- Visit research laboratories on campus and at the nearby Conard Environmental Research Area
- Discuss research projects with Grinnell faculty and summer research students.
Teachers/Counselors should expect to:
- Participate in roundtable discussions with Grinnell College faculty to share innovative approaches to science teaching.
- Attend presentation by Prof. David Lopatto on assessment of the impact of research on student learning.
- Hear keynote address by Raynard Kington, President of Grinnell College and former principal deputy director of the NIH.
