Discussion of Curricular Development proposals:
GWS

    GWS submitted recommendations concerning proposals. They have recommended that all GWS proposals currently under discussion be funded, though GWS has modified some requests for stipends. Doug moved to accept the GWS recommendations as submitted. David seconded. Approved.

Technology

  • GIS. Approved as submitted.
  • SPN: Blackboard. Approved including up to 10 hours for student labor.
  • RECD: US/Latin America Music Relations. ISC approved as follows pending recommendation from RECD:
  • $2000 stipend $250 student assistant Funding for Ingenta should be requested through ITS or the Library

  • RECD: Bible and Liberation. Is this more than a standard revision? Lee will contact faculty member to make a more compelling case. ISC has tabled this proposal pending a resubmitted proposal and RECD recommendation.
  • IMTS - Workshops. Three workshops approved.

Discussion of budget/stipends:

  • How are students paid? How is hardware/software funded? When curricular development proposals are submitted, are labor and hardware/software in addition to or included in the faculty stipend?

Suggestion to modify proposal form to clarify these points.
Helen will get clarification on how student labor and institutional expenses are handled.
Discussion of remaining proposals will continue on Nov. 26.
