Minutes of 13 October approved. Curricular Development Proposals: Spanish: Some ISC members questioned whether this newsletter would help bridge the gap between students learning Spanish and native Spanish speakers on campus. Will this newsletter reach beyond Spanish majors and students currently enrolled in Spanish courses? One member felt strongly that there should be a deliberate effort made to attract native Spanish speakers who may not be enrolled in or affiliated with Spanish department offerings. The purpose of the newsletter is for instructional purposes and will target students enrolled in Spanish Department course offerings. It will be available online, and so will be easily accessible to anyone interested. The Spanish Department is encouraged to use on-campus Spanish speakers as a resource, and as possible contributors, regardless of their enrollment in Spanish courses. Proposal approved.
