Some of the most exciting interdisciplinary teaching is collaborative, applying the expertise and rigor of two or more disciplines to an issue to produce new approaches and knowledge. Come discuss different models of collaborative teaching with some of your colleagues who are teaching together this year. Bill Ferguson and Elaine Marzluff will be on hand to discuss their Tutorials on Environmental Policy, Jenny Anger and Dan Reynolds will talk about their team-taught 200-level course on Berlin, and Tim Dobe and Shuchi Kapila will share how things are going in their seminars on Gandhi. In addition to representing collaborative teaching at three different course levels, these courses also illustrate three different ways of going about collaborative teaching: from classic team teaching, to shared-theme Tutorials, to partnering advanced disciplinary seminars to meet interdisciplinary goals. We hope to leave plenty of time for discussion.
