Planning an Interdisciplinary Course on Energy

Energy is an ideal topic for an EKI course because it is of significant global concern and because it intersects so many disciplines. A scientist for example can examine the technology and perform calculations on the number of square miles required to generate a certain amount of renewable energy but there remain the questions of whether the process is economically viable, politically acceptable, or environmentally responsible. In addition, what are the sociological questions to be addressed with both the development of new energy systems as well as in reducing our present energy use?

At this lunch we will frame a course on energy and address how to staff such a course.
