Envisioning a Middle East and Islamic Studies Curriculum
Recent developments, including the hiring of an Arabic instructor, make it advisable to re-evaluate the long-range and proximate curricular goals for Middle East Studies at Grinnell College. In particular, we should consider the role and nature of a possible introductory course, whether a concentration is an ultimate goal, and whether we want to make additional staffing proposals under the rubric of the EKI.
