The Case of Mapping Yosemite: Possibilities of Interdisciplinary and Collaborative MAPS and Field Work
In this final session on the practice of interdisciplinary and collaborative and team teaching, we will look at interdisciplinary teaching methods that reach beyond the classroom proper. Vince Eckhart and Steve Andrews will talk about "Mapping Yosemite". Their collaborative MAP involved field work in Yosemite National Park and coordinated advanced study in English and Biology. The conversation might start with the interdisciplinary possibilities of MAPs, some of the issues that came up in collaborating from the Humanities to the Sciences.
