Enhancing Curricular Offerings in the Middle East
Grinnell's curriculum currently has some courses specifically dealing with the Middle East and modules in a few others, but the area is still under-represented in the Grinnell curriculum. We have begun discussing possible ways of addressing this including increasing the current level of faculty expertise by a number of means, increasing language instruction in the relevant languages, bringing in international visitors, new permanent hires, recruiting international students from the area, and augmenting off-campus opportunities.
