GRINNELL COLLEGE - TENURE-TRACK POSITION IN NEUROSCIENCE
(START FALL 2009)
GRINNELL COLLEGE. Tenure-track position in neuroscience, starting Fall 2009. We are seeking candidates with teaching and research interests in any area of neuroscience. The successful candidate will join either the Department of Biology, Chemistry, or Psychology depending on primary teaching and research interests. Assistant Professor (Ph.D.) preferred; Instructor (ABD) or Associate Professor possible. Grinnell College is a highly selective undergraduate liberal arts college with an innovative neuroscience concentration. The College's curriculum is founded on a strong advising system and close student-faculty interaction, with few college-wide requirements beyond the completion of a major. The teaching schedule is five courses over two semesters, with lab sections counting as 0.5 courses. The candidate's teaching will be distributed over the neuroscience concentration and at least one of the three departments mentioned above; every few years one course will be Tutorial (a writing/critical thinking course for
first-year students, oriented toward a special topic).
