Burlington Trailways
Warning! Grinnell College is not responsible for any part of this service. Students who miss the bus to or from Chicago are responsible for their own transportation.
Burlington Trailways provides bus service to Chicago and destinations en route, effective August 16, 2012.
- From Grinnell to Chicago: The bus departs the Rosenfield Center on 8th Ave. at 4:30 p.m. sharp and arrives at the downtown Chicago terminal (630 W. Harrison) at 10:05 p.m. with a 5:25 p.m. stop in Iowa City and a 7:05 p.m. stop in Davenport.
- From Grinnell to Omaha: The bus departs the Rosenfield Center on 8th Ave. at 9:40 p.m. sharp and arrives in Omaha at 1:05 a.m. with a stop in Des Moines at 10:50 p.m.
One-way fare starts at $53.00. You should make an online reservation in advance and print out a boarding pass.
- Online reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance; there is a $4 additional fee for online reservations.
- To make online reservations go to: www.burlingtontrailways.com; choose "Grinnell IA" from the departure menu; return trip reservations can also be made at the same time. No checks or credit/debit cards accepted.
The pick up times are strict in order to keep the bus on schedule so it is important to arrive early for both the Grinnell pick up and the return trip from Chicago.
The bus will stop only 5 minutes at the Rosenfield Center for pickup and dropoff.

Greyhound Bus Line is discontinuing their service to Grinnell effective August 16, 2012.
