Let's set the stage...
The "studio" aglow with bright lights and wide smiles...
nervous anticipation and collective snarls toward the competition...
large inflatables volleyed from stage crew to cheering audience members.
The music plays, the crowd applauds, the announcer takes a deep breath and shouts...
Are you ready for...

A series of questions related either to customer service practices or to Grinnell College as an institution were presented to contestants.

The winner of the first game was the Office of Admission.

Host John Kalkbrenner puts the contestants at ease. The pressure of departmental competition! Thankfully it's all in the name of fun!

Families could play a question or (just to be ornery) pass the play on to the other team.

Student Affairs advanced to the final "lightning" round in game two. The two winning families earned prizes from the Office of Human Resources - the winning teams earned a departmental pizza party from the Office of Human Resources and the other participants received Grinnell College umbrellas as a parting gift.

Congratulations to all of the contestants. Special thanks to Host John Kalbrenner, coordinators Jana Johnson and Stacy Koehler and judges Tami Hrasky, Mark Watts and Kristin Lovig. Mark Watts did a noteworthy job replicating the Family Feud multimedia effects.
