HOW DO WE SET NEXT YEAR'S TUITION IN OUR BUDGET PROCESS? (QUESTIONS 13-17)

13. Why does our comprehensive fee go up so fast? Has it been going up faster, more slowly, or the same as our "peer schools"?14. I have heard about some change in how we will charge students for off-campus study beginning next year. Is it true that the College will now charge Grinnell tuition for all off-campus programs? Since most off-campus program fees are less than Grinnell College tuition, won't this cost students a lot more and what will the College do with the profits?15. By raising tuition, isn't Grinnell abandoning its image as the "best buy" among highly-selective liberal arts colleges?

16. Can you explain again what the tuition discount rate is? I can never keep straight whether "improving" this number means making it higher or lower....17. Why do we keep decreasing financial aid?Next set of questions (18-22): How do we set next year's salary pools in our budget process?Return to the previous set of questions (11-12): Do new buildings create budget pressures?
