On September 19, 2003, consultants convened focus groups involving students, faculty, staff, alumni, and trustees to consider the six remaining long-term strategies that the Planning Steering Committee chose to present to the Grinnell College community for discussion. These strategies can be found in .PDF format here: Strategies from the 2003 Strategic Planning Committee Because the Planning Steering Committee does not presume that any one of these strategies will be chosen wholesale, the goal of the focus group sessions was to identify the most attractive elements within the strategies. The Planning Steering Committee encourages others-academic departments, administrative offices, groups, and individuals-to consider the remaining strategies in light of the following questions that were asked of the focus group participants: 1. Of the 6 strategies identified, which are most attractive? Why? 2. If these strategies were implemented tomorrow, how would this affect you (individually or as a group)? Please send all comments by October 15, 2003 to Mark Montgomery Montgome@grinnell.edu and/or Jonathan Brand brand@grinnell.edu Individuals/groups are encouraged to identify themselves when submitting comments.
