Opt-in Listserve Form Instructions

Please fill out the following form, making your selections based on what type of activity that you want on your listserve. Call the ITS main office at (641)269-4901 if you have any questions.

(8 Character Max) - This is used in the e-mail address for the list. It appears in front of @lyris.grinnell.edu.

Can be a lot more descriptive, will appear as the "From" name on any emails sent (ex - "Mark's Internet Mail List")

Administrator(s)

Enter the Grinnell e-mail address for the person or people who will be administrating the list. Administrators have permission to request new members, moderate the discussion and post information to the listserve.

In most cases, this is you, and will be the only person allowed to send out to the list.

Type of list

Select either announcement list or discussion list depending on your needs.

An announcement list is designed for the owner or designator to post information for your group and allows the members to respond. Members can not see or respond to others on the list.

Request a discussion list if you ever wish for your group to be allowed to have a group discussion.
