Academics: Required: Sinhala language, Archaeology, and Independent Field Study. Students choose two electives from a wide range of electives, including courses in the fine arts, cultural anthropology, geography, religious studies, history, political science, women’s studies .

Field trips: Two tours of the island, one involving field study of archaeological and religious sites and the other to wildlife sanctuaries and tea plantations

Prerequisites: Minimum 3.0 GPA. Coursework on South Asian religions highly recommended.
