In a day filled with community service, student presentations, speeches and celebrations, Dr. Raynard S. Kington was inaugurated as Grinnell College’s 13th President on May 7, 2011. His first official act was to welcome more than 250 students, faculty, staff, alumni, and townspeople to a Day of Service at 25 sites in and around the town of Grinnell. That was followed by dozens of student presentations at various sites on campus. In the afternoon, delegates from many other institutions of higher learning, the trustees, and many alumni joined the college community at an inaugural ceremony on Central Campus.
