I have taken some steps to improve internal communication through town meetings, my blog, and this FAQ section. However, I recognize the need for appropriate structures, resources, and vehicles for internal communication. I expect to have a new vice-president for communications on board the summer of 2011 and that person will be charged with improving all internal communication for a more streamlined and transparent method of campus communication.

The new vice-president for communications will also work with information shared externally to ensure consistent messaging across offices and departments that reflects the College’s mission and strategic initiatives.

In addition, the new vice-president for communications will work closely with the new vice-president for development and alumni relations (also expected to arrive this summer) to improve alumni communications, particularly in the area of alumni volunteer engagement.
