Dear Alumni, Parents, and Friends:
As chair of the newly appointed Presidential Search Committee, it is my pleasure to inform you of the plans for the search as well as to enlist your assistance.
This is an extraordinary moment in the history of Grinnell College. The identification and recruitment of exceptional candidates to lead Grinnell are top priorities. The Board of Trustees has charged the Presidential Search Committee to present up to four candidates from which the full Board will elect Grinnell’s thirteenth president. The Committee hopes to forward its recommendations to the Board early in calendar year 2010.
The Committee consists of seven members of the Board, four members of the faculty, one student representative, one staff representative, and one alumni representative. The names of the members of the Committee are listed in the attachment to this letter. Progress of the search will be posted on the College’s website.
The Grinnell community is a wonderful resource for this search. If you have a candidate or candidates to recommend, I invite you to fax, mail, or e-mail the names, addresses, and current positions to the following address (no later than September 15, 2009, please). And, as you may know, the online form for submission of candidates for consideration by the Committee is still available.
