Ms. Fearrington founded an investment management company in 1979. Florence Fearrington Inc. was sold to the United States Trust Company of New York in 1997. She has now shifted the company’s management to its new owners, while continuing as a member of the Council of the Bibliographical Society of America and the Council of the Grolier Club in New York City. She is a founding member of the WISH List and is on its board of directors. She also serves as a Library Fellow at the American Museum of Natural History and on the finance committee of the New York Women’s Foundation. She and her husband have collected antiquarian natural history books for 25 years. Ms. Fearrington graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1958 and received a certificate in 1961 from the Harvard-Radcliffe Program in Business Administration.
