Todd Linden is president and CEO of Grinnell Regional Medical Center, a 49 bed, private non-profit hospital in Grinnell, Iowa. Linden received his Master of Arts degree in Health Administration in 1987 and a Bachelor of Arts degree 1985, both from the University of Iowa. He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
He was elected to the Grinnell College board in 2000 and prior to that was active with the College’s Town and Gown Campaign activities.
During his tenure, Grinnell Regional has tripled its medical staff; created a fitness and rehab center; added a 36,000 square foot medical office building; developed an integrated medicine program; constructed a three-million dollar rural medical mall in an adjacent county; built three new community outreach clinics; and completed a 40 million dollar comprehensive facilities improvement plan [including a four million dollar (1988) and an eight million dollar (2003) community capital campaign].
Since coming to Grinnell in 1994, Linden has received numerous honors including the University of Iowa’s Outstanding Alumni Award, the Iowa Hospital Association’s Excellence in Leadership Award, ACHE’s Iowa Regent’s Award, and Health Forum’s International Emerging Leader in Healthcare Award.
Linden is a frequent speaker at national conferences and state hospital associations. He has had the opportunity to testify in the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, and a special teleconference with the President Bill Clinton on health care issues.
Linden served on the American Hospital Association’s Board of Trustees from 2000 to 2005; currently serves on the Health Forum board; is past-chair of both the Iowa Hospital Association and Health Enterprises of Iowa; serves on the Grinnell College board of trustees, the University of Iowa College of Public Health advisory board and National Rural Advisory Committee for the US Department of Health and Human Services. He is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa, as well as a regular faculty for the American College of Healthcare Executives.
He has been active at the state level through appointments made by Iowa’s Governor, including chair of the Iowa Telemedicine Advisory Council, Locally, Linden serves or has served on the boards of: Grinnell Chamber of Commerce, Poweshiek Iowa Development, Waterford Group, Imagine Grinnell, Grinnell Renaissance (past-chair) and the Greater Poweshiek Community Foundation.
