PREREGISTRATION PROCEDURES FOR STUDENTS CURRENTLY ON ACADEMIC LEAVE,PERSONAL OR MEDICAL LEAVE, SUSPENDED OR WITHDRAWN


PREREGISTRATION - Monday, April 24 through *Thursday, May 4.


IMPORTANT: These Preregistration instructions apply to those students who are not currently enrolled on campus. Students returning from personal or medical leave must have prior approval from the Director of Academic Advising. Students returning from suspension or withdrawal must have prior approval from the Registrar. You will not be allowed to preregister if you have not obtained proper approval and/or if you have not paid your advance enrollment deposit, or have an unpaid balance on your account.

*Registration cards will be accepted up until 5:00 p.m., Thursday, May 4. Registration cards received after May 4 will be held until after preregistration cuts and closures have been processed. When preregistration reopens in mid-May, you will be added to any courses that have not yet closed. Cards received after May 19 will not be accepted, and you will have to wait unti registration in August to add courses.

     You should view your academic evaluation via the Services tab of your Pioneer Web      account (https://pioneerweb.grinnell.edu/webapps/portal/frameset.jsp) to                check your credit totals, and if you have a major declared, remaining courses and credits                in your major.

      Complete your registration card and submi it to the Registrar's Office using one of the       following options:


                    * E-mail: (registrar@grinnell.edu). If you choose to e-mail your course selections,                       please format the e-mail as closely to the registration card as possible.

                    * S-nail mail: Office of the Registrar, Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa 50112

                    * Fax: (641-269-4937)

       Review your course selections carefully before submitting them to the Registrar's Office.                  Once you submit your selections, you are not allowed to make changes.


All cards should be sent to this office not your adviser. The registrar's office will secure the approval of your adviser. Students are expected to have discussed their proposed programs of study with an adviser prior to their leaves. NOTICE: You will not be registered for any course for which you do not have the published prerequisite. Any course which you do not have the appropriate prerequisite and/or co-requisite will have to be added at Registration in August when you can obtain an instructor signature. Students are allowed to audit courses on a space available basis only. Therefore, students may not preregister for courses they wish to audit. Audited courses may be added after the cut and closure process.
