Grade Entry - Possible Problems and Solutions

Grades are entered through a Datatel program called "webadvisor". Webadvisor is anything requiring a second login. As an example, the picture lists are NOT part of webadvisor.

Problem and Solutions

P: Username not found messages:
S: The Datatel login is case sensitive - username should be lower case. (Screen below is the Datatel login screen). Some web browsers will cache a username or assume that a person is really typing their last name and change the first letter to UPPER case when the person clicks into the password field. Simply retype your login (both username and password) in lowercase.

P: I get messages about wrong password or my password does not work.
S: This password should be *identical* to the one you use to get email, log into the network or your computer and get past the first page of Pioneer Web. The network password is not case sensitive.
S: It is possible you have locked your account (see bottom of page)

P: I enter grades, click submit, the screen flashes and I am back to the empty form:
S: You have entered an invalid grade! (A+ or something, see the list in the registrar documentation) any invalid grade resets the form. This is on a list for Datatel to fix.

P: I try and enter grades and the page submits the grades when I see a page with empty grades.
S: it is possible you are hitting the "ENTER" or "RETURN" key and not "TAB" to move between grade fields.

Things to Test:

Privileges: Have you been able to log in previously? (NOT the photolists, but to any of the Datatel features listed below.

Enter Final Grades Class Rosters (registrar live data) Assist My Advisees (view grades, acad eval, credits, GPA, current schedule) View My Advisees (summary data only) Teaching Schedule

Locked Username: Is it possible that you have locked your username/network login? Three unsuccessful login attempts via pioneerweb, email, desktop, etc. will lock the account. You can test this by trying to log into outlook web access -

If you have been locked out, you can use the "manage network password" links on "My Grinnell" tab of Pioneerweb to unlock the account.
