On-campus summer housing is available to summer research/MAP students, full time summer interns, and (student) College employees (who work a minimum of 30 hours per week) for a cost of $65 per week.  The following houses will be used for the Summer '12 term:

  • 1019 Park St. (10 occupancy -- 3 singles, 3 doubles)
  • 1023 Park St. (8 occupancy -- 2 singles, 3 doubles)
  • 1217 Park St. (8 occupancy -- 3 singles, 2 doubles)
  • 1221 Park St. (8 occupancy -- single, 3 doubles)
  • 1227 Park St. (9 occupancy -- 3 singles, 3 doubles)
  • 1128 East St. (12 occupancy -- 4 doubles, 4 singles)
  • 1130 East St. (10 occupancy -- 4 singles, 3 doubles)

HOUSING / ASSIGNMENTS: Most houses are not air conditioned. Students with accessibility needs or a medical condition who require a housing-related accommodation must have documentation on file with the Residence Life & Orientation Department.  The type of accommodation required must be clearly indicated on the Summer Housing Contract.

Students are housed in a single room whenever possible; however, students are encouraged to indicate if they have a roommate preference as there are not enough single rooms to accommodate everyone.  If the need warrants, students will be housed with a roommate. Students may indicate their house, housemate, and roommate preferences on the Summer Housing Contract. Students may also request to be housed as a group and structure their own assignments. Requests for certain room and house assignments are not guaranteed.  Placements are dependent on need and availability.  Students with a medical accommodation requirement will be housed based on the accommodation required.

DATES FOR 2012 ON-CAMPUS SUMMER HOUSING:

  • FULL TERM  (10 wks):  3 p.m. May 27 through 12 noon August 4
  • PARTIAL TERM:  subject to availability

Students in need of partial term housing (less than 10 weeks) must clearly indicate dates housing is needed on the Summer Housing Contract.  Partial term housing is on a 'space available' basis (priority is given to full term requests).

INTERIM HOUSING: Interim housing is available to a small number of students who are unable to leave campus before and/or after the summer housing term. Special approval for early and/or late summer interim housing must be received from the Residence Life & Orientation Department. Students must indicate their need for interim housing on the Summer Housing Contract; contract and payment must be submitted by the due date in order to be considered for interim housing.  Students may be placed in transitional housing during the interim housing term(s).

  • EARLY INTERIM HOUSING: 5 p.m. Monday, May 21 through 3 p.m. Sunday, May 27; ONLY available to students who will be living on campus during the summer, and whose summer housing term begins Sunday, May 27.
  • LATE INTERIM HOUSING: 12 noon Saturday, August 4 through 8 a.m. Tuesday, August 28; ONLY available to students who will be living on campus during the summer, and whose summer housing term extends until/ends Saturday, August 4.

RESERVE A SPACE IN ON-CAMPUS SUMMER HOUSING: A Summer Housing Contract and payment for the first week’s rent must be submitted by NOON on FRIDAY, MAY 11 to the Residence Life & Orientation Department (3rd floor/JRC). Contracts are available from the Residence Life & Orientation Department. Payment may be made by cash or check with the Residence Life & Orientation Department. Credit card payments are accepted by the Cashier’s Office only (1st floor/JCC). The remainder of rent is automatically deducted from student's payroll checks or stipend. Students who request summer housing after the May 11 deadline will be housed on a 'space available' basis. Requests made after the deadline are not guaranteed.

A $50 key deposit will be charged to the student's College account when summer housing keys are issued. Deposits are refunded when the key is returned at check out. Any damage or excessive cleaning charges incurred during the summer term will be billed directly to the student's College account.

P-CARDS, ROOM KEYS, LAUNDRY, STORAGE, CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT:  Students will be notified of their summer housing assignment via email on or before Friday, May 18. Key pick up information will be provided at that time. Your P-card will be activated for the house you are assigned. Students living in summer housing may use laundry facilities located in the residence halls; your pcard will be activated for those halls as well. Short-term storage will be available before and after summer housing to students living in on-campus summer housing. Laundry facility and storage details will be sent via email after contracts are received and assignments are final.

A Room Inventory Report will be completed for each room. Students should thoroughly review the Inventory Sheet following check in. When vacating summer housing, students must schedule a time to check out of their room with the Residence Life & Orientation Department or forfeit the right to appeal damage/excessive clean up charges. Room keys MUST be returned at check out or taken to Campus Security before leaving campus. Students who do not return their key will not receive credit for the $50 key deposit.
