New parking regulations approval for July 2003-June 2004
The new parking regulations changes for 2003 were passed out for review by the committee to be reviewed by Friday 4/11/03.

Placing hoods over no parking signs in the campus area.
Committee members felt that this practice should continue as in the past and when common sense dictates that its important to be done. The committee felt as long as it is approved by the City Council then it would be fine for members of the campus to do this. The committee felt this was not done a lot so it was not a big concern.

Parking on grassy areas/drives, loading zones, during the beginning of the
semesters and drives loading zones during weekends and other times. Committee members expressed that the essence of a small liberal arts college is accessibility. The committee expressed that it is a matter of courtesy at times to allow people, who we want to come to campus, to park on the grass areas even if requires the campus to reseed from time to time. Members of the committee felt that this usually happens during major events to the campus and there is not a lot of these events. The committee felt that the Security Department should monitor this and make judgement calls. Members of the committee felt parking in the grassy areas, drives, loading zones is already addressed in the campus parking regulations for other times. This is addressed under parking regulations 6.03 LAWNS & LOGGIAS, ETC., Briscoe explained that he felt that since there was not adequate parking in the interior of the campus to handle large events this caused the spill over at times into the city streets and at times onto the campus grassy areas. Briscoe stated that although the campus has parking it is some distance away at times and will require for people to walk some distances to the areas they want to be in.

Double parking on any street in the campus area.
Tickets are issued on these vehicles by the city pd. To change the signage in these areas is a matter for the city Council Public Safety Commission to look into.

can we have signs that just designate one side of the street only and no
alternating parking days. There was brief discussion concerning making these streets one way streets with parking on one side, but this is a matter for the city council to look at.

Signage on Park Street. Does it need to be changed?
There was concern that the signs were not clear as to the park times allowed. This is another question for the City Public Safety Commission to deal with along with the City Council

Do we need to do away with Parking on Park Street
through the campus? The feeling of the committee was to keep Park Street and the parking on the street.

Is there a need for additional Visitors Parking Spaces on campus?
This is under consideration by the committee at this time. The committee did want to know if the Church lot at the corner of 6th/State Street could be used as a visitors lot between the hours of 9-5 during the week.

New parking Lots in the campus area- Les Ollinger
Ollinger presented a map showing all the new Parking Lots under considerations for the summer of 2003. In addition he showed the committee areas that were under consideration for future lot locations. The areas are below:
1. Mears Lot-Being extended
2. Forum Bldging Lot- Additional parking spaces being added.
3. Behind Loose/Railroad tracks area- Parking lot being added
4. 913 8th Avenue-More parking spots added.
5. Dayton House-House removed and parking lot added.
Extension of present lot at that location.
6. 913 6th Avenue- More parking being added

Future Lot Locations

1. Health Center Location- New lot when building removed.
2. 10th/East street Additional Parking at old FM location along street.
3. 10th/East-northside of new Residence Halls.

Alley behind the pre-school. A letter will sent to the City Council Public Safety
Commission asking them to look into turn the alley behind the pre-school into a one way alley and a children crossing sign placed in the area. Discussion?

There was so discussion by the committee on the possibility of Parking Garages
being constructed at the Cooper Street lot site or in the Norris Hall area.
