The Office of Social Commitment empowers Grinnellians to prepare "to serve the common good" by administering programs and advising students in the areas of scholarship, service, and leadership. The Office of Social Commitment:
- Provides advice on and assistance in applying for post-graduation service opportunities
- Administers the Grinnell Corps, six year-long post-graduation service programs
- Oversees the college's nomination process for merit-based scholarships and fellowships
If the end of life is service, as we believe, it is the duty of the college to do more than hold up an ideal of service. Grinnell College President John H. T. Main, 1906
