The Volunteer Teaching Corps is a two-year program offered through Inner City Teaching Corps. The program is similar to Teach for America, except that corps members are placed only in schools in Chicago.

Application Requirements: 
  • All applicants to the VTC must have a GPA of at least 3.0
  • ICTC will select the applicants to be interviewed
Benefits: 
  • VTC members automatically qualify for health insurance
  • VTC members live in co-ed communities of 7-10 people at converted rectories and convents in the South and West sides of Chicago. Each Corps member will have their own bedroom, and then share common areas with their housemates
  • Each community has historically been able to have 3 cars for both work and personal use
  • A small stipend is offered ($150 a month)
