University Child Development School in Seattle, WA offers a one-year Resident Teacher Program that is ideal for recent graduates who value education and children and thrive when learning by doing. Resident Teachers team with mentor teachers in elementary classrooms. The Resident Program is a teaching experience with thoughtful mentorship and professional development opportunities.

UCDS has an advanced, individualized curriculum, where students work hands-on with manipulative materials in small, multi-age classes. Residents work with mentors to plan curriculum, lead lessons, assess students, write narrative student reports and facilitate parent conferences.

Application Requirements: 

The successful candidate must honor individual learning styles, work as part of a team, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and have the ability to reflect deeply and responsively about his or her work. Each year, UCDS recruits internationally for ten Resident positions.
